Designing a space that seamlessly integrates humans with nature is a challenge that Peng-Hsu Chen, the renowned designer, has successfully conquered with his project, Axis and Nature. By incorporating the theme of "nature being in one's living room," this residential interior design brings together humanity, the environment, and architecture to create an ideal living space within the city.

One of the unique features of Axis and Nature is its utilization of internal space. The floor plan has been restructured, removing divisions and creating a large-scale, open-plan design. This unification of space allows for a clear view of the surrounding nature preserve, with mountains serving as a breathtaking backdrop.

Functionality is a key aspect of this design. The space has been carefully planned to enhance exchanges between residents, with the X and Y axis of the space interlinked in an interlocking, continuing manner. Whether residents are in the living room, bedroom, or kitchen, they feel as if they are conversing with nature, thanks to the natural ventilation and ample natural lighting.

Axis and Nature spans across 195 square meters and is located in Taipei, Taiwan. The design team, led by Peng-Hsu Chen, has meticulously researched and implemented a green design concept, ensuring that the space harmoniously coexists with the natural environment.

This exceptional design has not gone unnoticed. Axis and Nature was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category.
